Rapping icon Kanye West has demonstrated that he is an anti-Semite.

One example was claiming that former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who served as a White House senior adviser, pursued the Abraham Accords – the peace deals between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan – was only “to make money.”

“You know, he made these peace treaties,” he told Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson in an interview that aired Oct. 6. “I just think it was to make money.”

“I just think that that’s what they’re about is making money,” continued West. “I don’t think that they have the ability to make anything on their own. I think they’re born into money.”

While on its face this statement isn’t automatically anti-Semitic, as Kushner has reportedly struck a $2 billion deal with the Saudis, a possible future accords member, since leaving the White House and that he was born into a wealthy family, footage that was leaked to Vice showed that West’s intent was anti-Semitic in that he wasn’t referring to just Kushner, rather the Jews overall, as journalist Elad Nehorai correctly observed.

In leaked footage published by Vice on Oct. 11, West accuses Jews of “financial engineering.”

“I prefer my kids knew Hanukkah than Kwanzaa,” he said. “At least it will come with some financial engineering.”

Tying Jews and money reeks of classic anti-Semitism.

Moreover, Kushner pursued the Abraham Accords to create the new Middle East amid the region’s biggest threat: Iran. The UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan came to its senses that it is Iran, not Israel, that is the true threat in the region. Unlike the Obama administration, the Trump administration stood with Israel, not Iran. The Abraham Accords has led to economic, political, social and other advantages for its members. The accords vetoed the Palestinian veto – that there can be no peace between Israel and its neighbors until the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is resolved.

In addition to going after Kushner as a money-driven maven, West espoused additional anti-Semitic rhetoric.

In an Instagram post, West accused fellow superstar rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs of being controlled by the Jews – parroting another classic anti-Semitic trope of Jewish people and control. He also threatened to kill Jews.

On Friday, he posted in a now-deleted tweet, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

West has refused to apologize for his anti-Semitism. In fact, he’s only doubled down.

“Hey, if you call somebody out for bad business, that means you’re being anti-Semitic. I feel happy to have crossed the line of that idea so we can speak openly about things like getting canceled by a bank,” he told The New York Post, referring to JP Morgan Chase ceasing to do business with West’s business, Yeezy LLC.

In a viral podcast posted on Saturday, Kanye channeled his inner classic anti-Semitism and blamed the Jews for controlling Black people and for being greedy.

“Jewish people have owned the Black voice,” he said on Drink Champs.

“Whether it’s through us wearing a Ralph Lauren shirt, or it’s all of us being signed to a record label, or having a Jewish manager, or being signed to a Jewish basketball team, or doing a movie on a Jewish platform like Disney,” he continued. “And we understand, it’s like, I respect what the Jewish people have done, and how they brought their people together. You know, they came into money through the lawyers after Wall Street when all of the, like the Catholics they wouldn’t divorce people. So the Jewish lawyers came in and they were willing to divorce people.” (Disney is not “a Jewish platform.”)

Finally, West’s rhetoric exemplified the prevalence of anti-Semitism in the Black community and pop culture. Louis Farrakhan has an extensive record of making anti-Semitic statements. Al Sharpton slandered the Hasidic Jews of the ultra-Orthodox New York City neighborhood of Crown Heights, calling them “diamond merchants” and accused them of practicing “apartheid.” The rapper Ice Cube posted anti-Semitic memes in 2020. NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson posted fabricated Hitler quotes and praised Farrakhan.

Anti-Semitism must be a red line. Kanye West deserves to be canceled. Anyone who associates with him also deserve to be canceled. JP Morgan Chase and Los Angeles’ So-Fi Stadium, which canceled West’s scheduled performances there, did the right thing. The Abraham Accords demonstrated that peace is possible with the Jewish people. If only folks like Kanye came to his senses.
