Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, Holocaust survivor Marianne Miller and President Herzog will represent the State of Israel at UN events this coming week.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the United Nations will be commemorated this year with the inauguration of an exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, followed by a special memorial ceremony at the United Nations General Assembly attended by President Herzog and Holocaust survivor Marianne Miller, who was invited by Ambassador Danon.
Ambassador Danon: “I am delighted to host Marianne Miller here at the UN building. Marianne, it is very important that on International Holocaust Day your story will be heard and the world will see that we do not forget what happened to the Jewish people, nor do we forget who was behind those heinous crimes.”
Marianne Miller: “From the bottom of my heart, I thank our Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, who made my dream come true to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the United Nations. I look to the sky, to my parents and to all the six million people I came to represent, who can no longer tell their story. I want to tell the whole world what happened to the Jewish people because I was there. I came all the way from Israel so that everyone knows that it really happened—and so that it could never happen again.”
