In a historic move, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and US President Donald J. Trump jointly launched the “US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership” today. This government-to-government initiative aims to strengthen collaboration in AI and advanced technologies, reinforcing the strategic ties between the two nations.
Central to the partnership is the development of a 5GW UAE-US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi, a project led by G42 in partnership with several prominent US firms. This campus is set to become a cornerstone for AI innovation in the region, aligning with the UAE’s vision to be a global leader in technology.
The announcement took place during President Trump’s visit to Abu Dhabi, following the $1.4 trillion UAE-US strategic technology and investment alliance revealed earlier this year in Washington, DC. The partnership underscores a mutual commitment to leveraging AI for sustainable progress.
His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), stated, “Today’s agreement reflects the deep collaboration between our nations in AI. It showcases the UAE’s dedication to pioneering innovation and global cooperation, positioning us as a hub for transformative research that benefits humanity.”
US Secretary of Commerce Howard W. Lutnick added, “This campus marks a historic AI partnership in the Middle East. It will drive investment in semiconductors and data centers in both the US and UAE, with American companies managing cloud services across the region. This milestone supports President Trump’s vision for US leadership in AI.”
The US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership is poised to foster innovation, enhance technological collaboration, and deliver global impact through AI advancements.
