UAE Strengthens Women’s Empowerment and Fosters Gender Balance.

In alignment with the UAE leadership’s vision and its strategic approach to empowering Emirati women and strengthening their leadership roles to elevate the UAE’s standing on all fronts, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis) and the UAE Gender Balance Council. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, during the 2024 UAE Government Annual Meetings held in Abu Dhabi. This agreement aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two councils to support the participation of Emirati women in the private sector through joint initiatives and programs.

In this context, Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the wife of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chairperson of the UAE Gender Balance Council, expressed her pride in the signing of this agreement, which contributes to the wise leadership’s vision of enhancing the leadership role of Emirati women across various fields. Sheikha Manal emphasized that the agreement represents a significant step forward in efforts to increase Emirati women’s participation in leadership positions within the private sector, a key partner in achieving the UAE’s objectives, including sustainable economic and social development.

Sheikha Manal also praised the positive outcomes achieved by the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council over the past three years in improving the performance of Emirati human resources and encouraging their employment in the private sector across diverse fields and professional specializations, contributing to the sustainable economic development of the UAE.

She added that the UAE’s unique global partnership model between the government and private sector, built on transparency and a shared vision of present and future challenges, is one of the success factors that the UAE adopts in creating effective and successful policies. This is a key focus of the UAE Gender Balance Council in its initiatives, including the “Pledge to Accelerate SDG Goal 5” initiative.

For his part, Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, emphasized the importance of increasing Emirati women’s representation in leadership positions within the private sector. He noted that this agreement with the UAE Gender Balance Council serves one of the primary objectives of Emiratization in the private sector, which the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council is striving to achieve.

Meanwhile, Mona Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, expressed her gratitude to the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis) for its support of the Council’s goals related to enhancing Emirati women’s participation in the private sector, particularly in leadership roles and decision-making positions,particularly in leadership roles and decision-making positions, which have positive impacts on the growth of companies that uphold gender balance.

This agreement is a practical embodiment of the UAE’s vision to empower women and strengthen their presence in the private sector, further solidifying the UAE’s role and reputation as one of the leading countries globally in promoting and empowering women.
