The significance of the selection of Dr. Sultan Al Jaber as the most important person in the list of the top one hundred individuals on the topic of global environmental policies has many positive meanings. It is the appreciation of the whole world for the great effort the Emirates is making to fight the global climate. It is a projection of a very good image of the United Arab Emirates. It is a testimony to the credentials Dr. Al Jaber has to preside over COP28.

The list includes many prominent people such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda, President of the Rockefeller Foundation Rajiv Shah, Matti Lehums, President of Neste Corporation, and others. The selections are based on those believed by many people to have a stronger influence on our current history and who represent the good attitudes trying to shape our world for the better.

Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid sent through social media his praise and congratulations to Dr. Al Jaber for such an esteemed achievement.

Time magazine pointed out that Dr. Al Jaber has a different methodology and approach than previous presidents of the United Nations conferences on climate change. They referred to his novel management style where he invited top officials from the oil and gas companies to participate in COP28 to secure their commitments to cut carbon emissions.

Time magazine called attention to the statement by Dr. Al Jaber telling the magazine’s staff that the gradual lessening of the dependence on fossil fuels is an inevitable outcome.
