Washington, DC – On January 24th, Rep Oye is set to join DC’s inaugural Vaccine Alliance, led by Ronnette Moron. This organization is being established to increase community awareness about the importance of vaccinations and to dispel misconceptions. DC Vaccine Alliance is made up of local healthcare workers, medical executives and public servants. The timing of this organization is exceptionally important given the number of President Trump’s cabinet members (notably Robert Kennedy jr) who have negative stances on vaccines. DC Vaccine Alliance’s evidence based messaging is needed in DC where there are communities with vaccine rates as low as 20%. Rep Oye’s goal is to increase DC’s vaccination rates and coordinate more free vaccine pop-ups throughout the District. Joining DC Vaccine Alliance is part of Rep Oye’s commitment to improving public health and local quality of life.
“I’m honored to join DC Vaccine Alliance” says Rep Oye “I also want to commend the leadership of Ronnette Moton. We need this more than ever to dispel the anti-vax conspiracy theorists in office. We aim to continue educating DC communities about the importance of getting vaccinated so those who are most skeptical don’t fall prey to misinformation. As DC’s only elected healthcare worker, I’m proud to join the DC Vaccine Alliance to improve our public health.
