On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jews who perished in this horrific genocide. Today, as we reflect on the lessons of this human tragedy, we call for:
Abrahamic Peace: A genuine peace that unites the followers of the three Abrahamic faiths on the values of coexistence and mutual respect; a peace that builds bridges of understanding instead of walls of hatred.
Combating Terrorism: All forms of terrorism, which pose a threat to all of humanity, and combating the regimes that support it.
Democratic Coexistence: The solution lies in building a pluralistic society that respects all identities, religions, and ethnicities, where communities coexist in peace and dignity.
The lessons of the Holocaust today teach us that silence in the face of injustice is a crime, and that hatred leads to destruction. Let us work together for:
– A region free from terrorism and extremism
– Peaceful coexistence among all its communities
– Respect for human rights and dignity for all
Let us work together to achieve a region that rejects hatred and believes that peaceful coexistence is not just a slogan, but a way of life based on respect for human rights and dignity, and on building bridges of communication among all its communities, sending a clear message that we are capable of overcoming our painful past towards a brighter and more just future.
