President Trump Delivers: No Taxes on Social Security, Signed Into Law.

February 22, 2026 President Donald J. Trump just made good on one of the biggest promises he ever made to American seniors.

“I got NO TAXES ON SOCIAL SECURITY passed, and I signed it into law.”

He didn’t just talk about it. He fought for it, got it through Congress, and put his signature on it July 4, 2025, Independence Day turning the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into reality.

For millions of retirees, that means the federal government is no longer taking a chunk out of their Social Security checks.

The new law gives anyone 65 and older an extra deduction up to $6,000 if single, double that for married couples filing jointly. Stack it with the regular deductions and it wipes out federal income tax on Social Security benefits for about 88 to 90 percent of people who get them.

Average benefit around $24,000 a year? Zero federal tax. Every dollar stays in the retiree’s pocket.

The Social Security Administration has already confirmed it.
The IRS rolled out the updated rules for the 2025 tax year. People filing in 2026 are seeing the difference right now.

This isn’t some small tweak. It’s the largest tax break seniors have seen in decades. Add it to no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, and locking in the 2017 tax cuts for good, and you’ve got a package that actually helps working people and retirees instead of just talking about it. President Trump is the first to admit the fight isn’t over.

“Democrats and Radical Judges are trying to shut down all the progress we’ve made TOGETHER,” he said in his latest message to supporters.

He’s not wrong. The left is already looking for ways to claw it back state-level tricks, court challenges, anything to undo what’s been won. That’s why he’s sounding the alarm and asking patriots to step up before his fast-approaching deadline.

He gave seniors their money back. Now he’s asking for the same loyalty in return.

This is what keeping promises looks like.
This is what putting America First really means. Thank you, Mr. President. Keep fighting. We’re right there with you.
